Another Fake Spyware Program
Another fake spyware program has been discovered. Sunbelt Software, makers of CounterSpy, Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall and iHateSpam, has identified another fake spyware program, this one called “Spyware Soft Stop.”
The programs web site is typical in that it makes the usual exaggerated claims regarding the proliferation of spyware. By downloading and executing the supposed program installer, names sss_bot.exe, you are presented with a poorly worded warning that states, “Warning! Your computer is probably infected. Microsoft Corporation recommends you to check your computer on the spyware presents. Click here to download updates.”
If you are unlucky enough to click on the message window’s ok tab you are walked through a sequence that includes an install, scan and results window that gives you an alarming number of infected files. The only thing is, the “infected” files are installed by Spyware Soft Stop and the are benign.

I got this spyware soft stop somewhere, spy sweeper gets rid of it, but it also wipes out your internet explorer! even if you are in safe mode! But I have picked it up three times in the last few days cannot figure where, so no I keep spy sweeper on all the time and it does not get on my computer. It is bad..
