Looking for a DX10 graphics solution by someone not named Nvidia? Then you’re in luck as ATI has released their 8800 killer named the Radeon 2900XT. Here are the reviews

“The Radeon HD 2900 XT is the flagship of a new line of ATI boards with top-to-bottom DirectX 10 support, and it’s packed with impressive technology, including a 512-bit memory interface; 320 unified stream processors, which can handle any type of shader you throw at them; and high-quality video processing with full encode and decode support for high-definition video”. via PC World

Other Reviews:

“As usual, AMD relied on intelligent features and advanced architecture rather than nVidia’s approach of raw power. The problem always was and will be that, although the card supports many features, they might remain unused, unless the programmers implement them. That is, of course, dependant on the budget of the development teams, which are often endorsed by the manufacturers themselves. Strictly unofficially, there are rumours circulating that nVidia invested a significantly larger sum of money compared to AMD. Time is to show whether that’s true. At this time, the author of this article remains assured that it is too early to draw conclusions.” via InsideHW

It has been a quiet six months for ATI, not only have Nvidia been ruling the roost with their excellent 8800 series, but with AMD getting trounced by Intel in the processor sector, every sane enthusiast is praying that their graphics division can finally deliver a competitive product which gives us all good value for money as well as a stellar gaming experience. via Driverheaven.
