Backup Best Practices: Separate your Data from your OS

by Kiven on January 30th, 2007

One basic tip that has saved my bacon a couple of times is separating my data from my OS. For best results: save your data on a separate drive or a different partition. That way, even if you use system restore tools your data will still be intact. For suggestions regarding partition tools, i suggest you try Acronis Disk Director Suite or Norton’s Partition Magic.
