This will be a quick story that I came across from an angry IT guy. All you nonits, listen up as a friendly IT guy sent in this email:
Don’t lie to me when you need help with your computer. I don’t judge you if your PC messes up, these things happen but don’t think […]

I love hearing great stories from IT people and nonits (what I’ve decided to call non-IT folk) and below is part of an email that a lovely IT reader sent in:
If something does break and there are error messages that come up, WRITE THEM DOWN. I can’t stress this enough, those error messages appear for […]

This question comes to us from Mary Jo Manzaneres from Fly Away Cafe.
Why does it take so long to start up my system, and what can I do about it?
Mary Jo–
Some basic cleanup will go a long way to booting up your system. Often a defrag and removing unnecessary startup items in your Start > […]

This question comes to us from Scott Goldblatt from Timed Finals.
How often should I defrag my computer?
Good question, Scott, and not one that everyone agrees on. Ultimately it comes down to what you use your computer for. If you are a power user with lots of games, media files, etc, you’ll definitely want to defrag […]

This question comes to us from Tris Hussey from Larix Consulting.
Do I really need Norton Utilities?
As a matter of fact, Tris, you do not. In fact, I’d recommend removing it completely from your system. There are a number of Anti-virus solutions from companies like Panda and others and many of the “features” of Norton’s […]
