Disabling Those Annoying Balloon Popups

You know what I’m talking about… Those baloon messages that Windows kicks out at you from the area of your taskbar that get in the way of what you’re trying to do.

Here’s how to nuke those suckers for good.

1. Open Your Registry Editor (regedit)
2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\
3. Add a new DWORD entry called EnableBaloonTips
4. The Value should be 0
