Dont forget to clean out your old apps
If you’ve used your PC for months then there’s a big chance that you have installed and uninstalled a lot of apps from your system. But sometimes we tend to forget some of these programs still exist in our setup and in the end, just take up valuable hard drive space and may even slow down your system.
The best thing to do is to take a good look at your installed apps by clicking on (WinXp) Start->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs. Remember that you can sort these by size, date last used and frequency of use. To remove an app, click on its name and click on the remove button on the right side. Make sure you don’t uninstall such important apps like drivers or windows updates though.
