Microsoft publishes workaround for Active-X vulnerability

Microsoft advises its XP windows users of another zero day exploit of a vulnerability in its “Microsoft XML Core Services.” Until Microsoft patches the flaw, Microsoft recommends visiting only trusted sites, and using caution opening attachments in email. Microsoft created a workaround but warns: “Web sites that use the XMLHTTP 4.0 ActiveX control may no longer display or function correctly…” [SearchSecurity.com]
